In our quest for state quarters we are only missing Hawaii, Vermont and Delaware. Keep an eye open for these elusive quarters.
Ask your student to tell you about the A&E Biography on JK Rowling. It was her first interview conducted -- before the series was even finished. She spoke at length about the writing process. The kids were enthralled!
Thank you for your efforts to abide by the schools' dress code. I know it can be difficult when shopping to find longer lengths for the girls, but I can see your success! I encourage the kids to consider school their workplace, and not a place of recreation. Our room has been very comfortable so far (the AC is on today). It's best to dress in layers though, or keep a sweater in the locker, for the days when the AC feels too strong. Below are links to the student handbook pages which address dress code.
On May 8th we had a community guest, Eric Heath, who shared his passion for poetry with the class. The kids were a wonderful audience. They eagerly volunteered to read, they listened attentively, they shared their own thoughts and interpretations. Ask them to tell you more.
The deadline for field trip forms is approaching. See the May newsletter for details.
I hope you had a beautiful weekend, and a lovely Mother's Day.
